What's the difference between perimenopause and menopause?+
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause, when hormone levels begin to fluctuate and symptoms often start, sometimes years before your periods stop. Menopause is the point when you've gone twelve months without a period. Dr. Luciano cares for women through every part of this journey, from the earliest changes through the years that follow.
How does payment work for menopause care?+
Sparrow is a traditional practice. If you're with Aetna, Cigna, or Traditional Medicare, your visits are billed to your plan according to your individual benefits — you don't pay the listed self-pay rates. For other plans, self-pay rates apply — $350 for your comprehensive consultation and $150 for follow-ups — with a detailed superbill provided upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement (determined by your plan and not guaranteed), and more major carriers on the way.
Is hormone therapy right for me?+
It depends on your symptoms, your health history, and your goals. Hormone therapy is one of several evidence-based tools Dr. Luciano may recommend, and she'll walk you through whether it's appropriate for you rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
Can I use my insurance?+
Sparrow Women's Health is in network with Aetna and Cigna, and accepts Traditional Medicare. Coverage, copays, deductibles, coinsurance, referrals, and prior authorization requirements vary by plan. Please contact your insurer or our office to confirm your individual benefits. Eligible visits and in-office services may be billed to your plan (Medicare coverage rules may apply), and more major carriers are on the way. Outside laboratory services are billed according to the laboratory's own insurance arrangements. Military families: Dr. Luciano is a TRICARE-certified, currently non-network provider for eligible TRICARE Select and TRICARE for Life beneficiaries — call us first so we can help verify your benefits. HSA and FSA funds may be applied toward self-pay care, and Dr. Luciano contracts directly with Quest for self-pay lab pricing.
What areas do you serve?+
Sparrow offers dedicated perimenopause and menopause care from our office in Winter Garden, serving women across Horizon West, Windermere, Ocoee, and the greater Orlando area. Dr. Luciano is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP).
Do you prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?+
Yes. Dr. Luciano provides individualized hormone therapy where it's appropriate, as part of a complete menopause and midlife plan at our Winter Garden office. She'll review your symptoms, history, and goals to determine whether hormone therapy is right for you, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
Do you treat perimenopause, not just menopause?+
Yes. We care for women through the earliest perimenopausal changes, often years before periods stop, all the way through menopause and the years that follow.
Can I see a menopause specialist without insurance?+
Yes. Your menopause evaluation, hormone therapy, and follow-ups are available at transparent self-pay prices — $350 for your initial consultation and $150 for follow-ups — and after payment we can provide a superbill upon request for you to submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement, determined by your insurer and not guaranteed.
